378 CALENDAR OF LIBERATE ROLLS. 1257. Membrane 5 —cont. Liberate to Peter de Chauvent 60 marks for this Easter term of his yearly fee of 60 marks. June 6. Liberate to Michael de Fednes 50s. delivered to John Flury, Westminster. provost of St. Emilion, when the king was last at Merton. Liberate to Ellis de Roffa the king's farrier (mariscallo) 11 marks for a palfrey bought for the queen. Liberate to Geoffrey de Boleymunt 60 marks for this Easter term of his yearly fee of 50 marks, with reservation of 20,000 marks as above. To the sheriff of Kent. Contrabreve to let the executors of William de Kasingham have 101. out of the issues of the county for Michaelmas and Easter terms last past, which sum he should then have received of the 101. yearly which he used to receive at the Exchequer for his long and praiseworthy service. June 8. To the same. Contrabreve to let Master Roger de Cantuaria, Westminster. king's clerk, have 10 marks for this Easter term out of the issues of the county, of the 20 marks yearly granted to him at the Exchequer till the king shall make fuller provision for him. Liberate to William de Trubevyle, who is lately sick and is now recovering, 5 marks of the king's gift. By K. Liberate without delay to Bernard de Bruc' 40s. of the king's gift for his expenses, because the king cannot at present satisfy him of what he owes him. To the constable and bailiffs of Dover. Contrabreve to let the bishop of Jaen (Jahenn') and the prior of Cornellana (Cornelian'), messengers of the king of Castile, and their household, have a good ship in the port of Dover to cross the seas, acquitting them of the custom of Dover, and protecting and defending them so that they suffer no injury or grievance. Liberate to Adam Bruning 25s. for a hundred of sturgeon taken for the king by the hands of William de Haselbech when king's chamberlain of London, sent to the king at Wodestok, and delivered to Master Paulinus the king's buyer, as testified by the latter. Allocate to Richard de Clare, earl of Gloucester and Hertford, in the first debts payable by him at the Exchequer, 401. 19s. 5id. which he should have received from the king last year for the barton of Bristol. To the sheriff of Hants. Contrabreve to enclose a corner of the king's park of Freytmauntel with a hedge of the underwood of the park.
