374 CALENDAR OF LIBERATE ROLLS. 1257. Membrane 6-cont. prisage-wine, all taken for the king by Thomas Esporun and Matthew Bokerel, his chamberlains of London. Liberate to Lucy late the wife of Roalen de Bray 100s. for this Easter term of the 101. which she receives yearly at the Exchequer for her maintenance. May 18. Liberate to the king's kinsman Henry de Castello 321. for his Westminster. expenses from the morrow of St. Mark in this year till Whit Sunday following, both days included, being 20s. daily for the maintenance of his household. Allocate to John Blundel and Stephen de Edworth, keeper of the last fair of St. Ives, in the issues thereof, 33s. ld. spent in purchase of canvas there delivered to Master Mansell to make the king's pavilions, and in carriage of the same to Westminster. Liberate to Margaret countess of Flanders 500 marks arrears of her yearly fee of 500 marks, and to Baldwin de Aveynes 50 marks for this Easter term of his yearly fee of 100 marks. May 21. Liberate to Walter de Kingeston, Ralph de la Marche, John de Westminster. Oxonia, Richard de Ambresberi, and their partners 331. 7s. 4d. balance of 531. 7s. 4d. due to them for divers kinds of fowl and fish taken from them for the king while in Gascony by the hands of William de Wethamstede, king's clerk, and Paulinus de Bamtone, king's buyer, as reckoned by Aubrey de Fiscampo and Peter de Wynton, clerks of the wardrobe. To the sheriff of Surrey and Sussex. Contrabreve to let the king's three chaplains of Gudeford, two celebrating in the king's court there and the third at the leper hospital outside Gudeford, have their wages of 50s. each yearly from this Easter so long as he is sheriff. To the sheriff of Wilts. Contrabreve to spend up to 300 marks out of the issues of the current forest eyre in the county on the works of Salisbury castle by view and testimony of Robert Walerand, steward of the forest, and Master John de Gloucestria, king's mason. Liberate to Bartholomew le Bigod 100s. for this Easter term of his yearly fee of 101. May 21. Liberate to Roger de Messenden, king's clerk, 101. for this Easter Westminster. term of the yearly fee of 201. granted to him till the king shall make fuller provision for him.
