368 CALENDAR OF LIBERATE ROLLS. 1257. Membrane 7-cont. To the sheriff of Lincoln (unfinished duplicate of last entry but one). To the sheriff of Huntingdon. Contrabreve to carry to London the above-named canvas, which the keepers of the fair will deliver to Mansell. Cancelled quia redditum fuit breve. Allocate to John de Vernun, sheriff of Wilts, in the issues of the last eyre of Gilbert de Preston and his fellows in the county, 331. 6s. 8d. delivered in the wardrobe at Clarendon to Artald de Sancto Romano, keeper, on the Thursday after St. Nicholas, as testified by Peter de Winton, clerk of the wardrobe. [April] 28. Allocate to William de Staynton, sheriff of Westmoreland, in Merton. the issues of the last eyre in the county, 181. delivered to Roger le Taylur (cissori) and Hugh his colleague, takers for the wardrobe in the last fair of Staunford, to pay for the king's purchases there, as testified by them before the king. Liberate to Richard de Midelton, after payments as above, 5 marks arrears for this Easter term of the 10 marks which he receives yearly so long as he is engaged in keeping the king's writs and rolls in the Bench. Liberate to John de Laumfare, after payments as above, 101. for this Easter term of the 201. granted to him yearly to maintain himself in the king's service. Liberate to Goscelin Binater and Peter Grigun his partner 40s. for 2 tuns of wine of lawful prisage, to Bernard Mathei 1141. for 56 tuns of purchased wine and 2 tuns of prisage-wine, to Peter Gaylun and Ellis de Campis 421. for 20 tuns purchased and 2 tuns of prisage-wine, and to Peregrine Peset 40s. for 2 tuns of prisage-wine, all taken for the king by Thomas Esporun and Matthew Bukerel, his chamberlains of London, in this year. Liberate to two chaplains of the king ministering at the Tower of London, who receive 50s. each yearly, their wages from this Easter till Michaelmas following. April 29. Liberate to William de Chabbeneys, after payments as above, Windsor. 151. for this Easter term out of the 301. yearly granted to him so long as Margery de Vernun shall live. To William de Riston, bailiff of Wodestok. Contrabreve to let three chaplains ministering in the king's chapels of Wodestok have their wages of 50s. each yearly from Michaelmas in the 40th year so long as he is bailiff of the woods (') there.
