Allocate to Robert Walerand, formerly keeper of the bishopric of St. David's, in his debts to the king, 161. 16s. spent in maintenance of serjeants, mounted and on foot, to keep the manors of the bishopric while void and in his keeping. To the sheriff of Salop and Stafford. Contrabreve to let Marmaduke son of Richard, who lost his lands in Wales on account of his service to the king, to have 101. for Michaelmas term in the 40th year of the yearly fee of 201. granted to him during pleasure to maintain himself in the king's service. To the bailiff of Havering. Contrabreve to finish the queen's chapel at Havering out of the farm of the manor by the advice of Master John de Gloucestria the king's mason, the cost to be credited by view and testimony of lawful men. To the bailiffs of Suthampton. Contrabreve to carry 40 tuns of wine without delay to Winchester, 4 to Wherwell, 40 to Clarendon, 8 to Lotegarshale, 30 to Merleberge, 4 to Sandelford, 16 to Radinge, 4 to Abbendone, 8 to Oxford, 40 to Wodestok, 4 to Chauton, 12 to Geudeford, 8 to Brehulle, and 2 to Farendone, out of 220 (sic) to be taken in the parts of Suthampton by Peter de Gisorciis, taker of the king's wines, and to stow them safely in the cellars of those places against the king's arrival. To the sheriffs of London. Contrabreve to carry 112 tuns of wine to Westminster, 6 to Waltham, 4 to St. Alban's, 2 to Royston (Crucem Roes'), 2 to Dinneslegh, 12 to Merton, 2 to Sutton, 16 to Keninton, 2 to Certeseye, and 80 to Windesores, out of 238 to be taken and delivered to them at London by Thomas Sporun and Matthew Bokerel, king's chamberlains of London, and to stow them as above. Nov. 4. Liberate to William de Chaunlite 30 marks for his expenses and Windsor. other small items of armour against his new knighthood, the king having lately decked him and two others with the belt of knighthood. Liberate to the king's brother Guy de Leziniaco 1001. for Michaelmas term in the 40th year which he receives yearly in the name of Gaucher de Chastyllun for the manor of Derteford, and 501. for the same term of the yearly fee of 1001. which he receives in addition to his yearly fee. Nov. 4. Allocate to Robert Wallerand, in the issues of co. Gloucester Westminster. while he was sheriff, 20s. spent in salting 20 pigs and 40 sows taken by the king's huntsmen in the forest of Dene and carrying them to Westminster against Christmas in the 33rd year; 24s.
