Thomas de Sabaudia and the king's brothers as commanded, 30 marks for the 39th year and 15 marks for Easter term in the 40th year of his yearly fee of 30 marks. June 11. Contrabreve to repair and mend the Merton. tower of Dover castle, that of Rochester castle, and other defects in both castles by counsel of Master Alexander the king's carpenter, who has seen them, being sent therefor, and to carry to Westminster for the works there the 100 oaks sold to the king by Hamo de Crevequer in his wood of Bokenefolde, with the shingles which the king has had made in his wood of Meredene, the cost to be credited by view and testimony of lawful men. June 18. To the same. Contrabreve to fell 20 oaks for timber in the Morton. king's wood of Meredene by counsel of the said Master Alexander, and carry them to Rochester castle for the works there.
