300 CALENDAR OF LIBERATE ROLLS. 1256. Membrane 8-cont. June 6. Liberate to William de Gardinis, after payments as above, Westminster. 5 marks for Easter term in the 40th year of his yearly fee of 5 marks. Allocate to Walter Giffard, formerly escheator in co. Devon, in the issues of his bailiwick, 25 marks 6s. 8d. delivered to John Walerand, king's clerk, in part payment of 30 marks for the same term of the yearly fee of 30 marks which he receives at the Exchequer till the king shall provide for him more abundantly. June 7. Allocate to Henry de Droeys, escheator in co. Gloucester, in Westminster. the issues of his bailiwick, 4 marks 68. 8d. delivered to the said John in part payment of the said 30 marks. Note that by the two preceding writs the whole sum for that term has been paid. June 7. Allocate to Hamo de Crevequer, in his debts to the king, Westminster. 401. for 100 oaks which he sold at the king's request in his park of Bukingefald by the hands of Master Alexander the king's carpenter for the works of the church of Westminster in the 40th year. Liberate, after payments to Count Thomas de Sabaudia and others as enjoined, to Hugh de Clifford 20 marks for Easter term in the 39th year and 20 marks for Easter term in the 40th year of his yearly fee of 20 marks, and to Richard de Ripariis 40 marks for the same terms of his yearly fee of 20 marks. Allocate to Hugh de Goldingham, steward of the forest between the bridges of Oxford and Stanford, in the issues of his bailiwick, 101. from Easter in the 39th year to Easter in the 40th year, and 101. thenceforward to Easter in the 41st year, for his maintenance in that office.. Contrabreve to carry 5 tuns of wine Westminster. with all speed to Guldeford to place in the king's cellars there, and 30 tuns by water to Henleye for delivery to the sheriff of Oxford, who is commanded to receive them there and carry them with all speed to Wodestok against the king's arrival there, which will be shortly, out of 35 tuns to be delivered at London by Philip Luvel the treasurer. To the sheriff of Oxford. Contrabreve to receive the said 30 tuns at Henleye and carry them to Wodestok as above and place them safely in the king's cellars there. To the sheriff of Norfolk. Contrabreve to pay 30 marks of the king's gift without delay to Geoffrey de Bello Campo. By John Maunsell.
