250 CALENDAR OF LIBERATE ROLLS. 1255. Membrane 19-cont. Liberate to Baldwin de Insula 401. for Easter term in the 39th year of the 801. granted to him yearly in lieu of all other payments, unless he has received it by another writ made in Gascony (R6les Gascons, I, No. 4232). Nov. 7. Liberate to Hugh de Bueles 101. of his yearly fee of 101., and to Westminster. William Bluet O00s. and to John de Busceby 100s. of their yearly fees, all for Michaelmas term in the 39th year. Liberate to Matthias de la Mare 10 marks for the same term of his yearly fee of 20 marks. Liberate to Ralph de Ausy and Alice his wife 20s. for the 40th year of the 20s. yearly granted to them for life to pay the rent of their lodging, on account of the praiseworthy service which Ralph has long done to the king and king John his father. Liberate to Master Gilbert de Millers 25 marks for Michaelmas term in the 38th year of his yearly fee of 50 marks. Liberate to Peter de Gundon, messenger of the count of Armagnac (Armoniaco), 40s., and to Peter de Nugelolio, messenger of Amanevus de Vastalad, two marks for their expenses homewards, out of the arrears due to their lords. Liberate to Huncosin the crossbowman 47s. arrears of his wages while in the king's service in Gascony down to the Thursday after St. Peter's Chains as reckoned by Richard le Rus (Ruffum), king's clerk, and to John de Huncosin 47s. for the like, receiving from them the king's letters patent therefor. Nov. 6. To the sheriff of Kent. Contrabreve to let the elect of Toledo, Westminster. brother of the king of Castile, and his men, have prompt transport at Dover, and to pay for it on the king's behalf. To Godfrey de Liston. Contrabreve to pay to four serjeants-atarms dwelling in garrison in the castle of Windesores their wages of 9d. each daily from Easter to Michaelmas in the 39th year out of the issues of his bailiwick. Liberate to Nicholas de Chel, foot-crossbowman, 33s. arrears of his wages while in the king's service in Gascony down to the Thursday after St. Peter's Chains, as reckoned by Richard le Rus (Ruffum), king's clerk, receiving from him the king's letters patent therefor. Nov. 7. Allocate to Simon de Eltesden, formerly sheriff of Bukingham, Westminster. in the issues of the county, 59s. 6d. for sheep, boars, and fowls
