Allocate to Reynold de Cobham, sheriff of Kent, in the issues of Westminster. his bailiwick, 791. 4s. 3d. spent in payment........... of the port of Dover at the landing of the elect of Toledo, Garsias Martini, and their household at Dover and in their expenses thence to the New Temple in London, testified by F......, steward of the said elect. By Philip Luvel. Liberate without delay to Haucon de Norwagia, messenger of the king of Norway, 40s. of the king's gift for his expenses. Oct. 25. Liberate to Clement de Welles and Robert de Coby, chaplains Westminster. ministering at the Tower of London, each of whom receives 50s. yearly, their wages of 25s. each from Easter to Michaelmas in the 39th year. Oct. 25. To Master John Clarel and Adam de Hilton, keepers of the Westminster. archbishopric of York. Contrabreve to pay 3001. to the queen for her expenses. To the sheriff of Dorset. Contrabreve to carry the king's timber which is at Melebir' to York without delay for the works of the castle there. Allocate to Reynold de Cobham, sheriff of Kent, in the issues of his bailiwick, 121. 19s. lid. spent in [purchase] of pigs, fowls, rabbits, boars (braon'), mallards (madlardis), widgeons, plovers, hares, eggs, and dishes against Christmas last, attested by Peter de Wynton, clerk of the wardrobe; 61. 17s. 5d. spent in transport of the king's elephant at Dover; 36s. 9d. spent in transport of John de Grangia and Stephen de Porta, messengers of the king of France, at Dover; 1ls. 10d. [spent in transport] of Richard le Rus, king's clerk, and a knight of Dover castle, whom the king sent with his treasure to Whitsand to make payment (pacam) to the Picards who were in arms with him; 16s. 10d. spent in carriage of 3 tuns of wine from London to Faversham, 4 tuns to Rochester, and 2 tuns to............. [against] the king's arrival there from the parts of Gascony; and 15s. 5d. spent in payment of the custom of the port of.......... for........... and his household at their landing there. Allocate to Aunfrid de Feringes, formerly sheriff of Surrey, in the issues of the county, 20s. 6d. spent in [purchase of] fowls against Christmas last past, as testified by Peter de Winton, clerk of the wardrobe.
