June 1. Contrabreve to carry 60 fothers of lead, to be delivered by Woodstock. Geoffrey de Langele, to Westminster without delay for the king's works there. June 2. Liberate to Matthew de Mara 10 marks for Easter term in the Woodstock. 39th year of his yearly fee of 20 marks. June 4. Liberate to Arnold de Gyrunde 401. 25s. arrears of wages while Woodstock. in the king's service in Gascony with two other knights and 20 crossbowmen on foot down to the Thursday after St. Peter's Chains, as reckoned by Richard le Rus (Ruffum), king's clerk, and 200 marks in recompense of damages sustained in the king's war in Gascony, receiving from him the king's letters patent therefor. Liberate to Guy de Lezygnan the king's brother 91. 10s. sterling in lieu of 481. 5s. money of Bordeaux, arrears of his wages while with the king on his service at Meilhan in Gascony in the time of P. Chaceporc, formerly the king's treasurer, as witnessed by Ellis de Hertford, then Peter's clerk. To the sheriff of Northampton. Contrabreve to go in person to the king's castle of Rokingham to view all the defects thereof, and amend them with all possible speed by view and testimony of good and lawful men. Allocate to Richard de Baggingewurth and Walter de Hunteleye, in the sale of wood in the forest of Dene, 971. paid in the wardrobe at Wodestok to Artald de Sancto Romano on the Saturday after the octave of Trinity in the 39th year as testified by Aubrey de Fiscampo, king's clerk. June 6. To the sheriff of Essex. Contrabreve to pay to Bartholomew le Woodstock. Bygod and John de Bruera, king's knights, 201. 15s. 8d. arrears of their wages while with five serjeants-at-arms in garrison in the castle of Bourg (Burgo) with William de Trubevyle down to the Friday before the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, as reckoned by brother Robert de Manneby and William de Axemuhe, king's clerk; and 81. 5s. 4d. arrears of their wages while in the king's service with the said serjeants in garrison in the king's castle of Fruncak from the said Friday, when they left the castle of Bourg, to the Thursday after St. Peter's Chains, as reckoned by the said William.
