39 HENRY III. 207 1255. Membrane 9 —cont. queen, either for life or until the king shall make more plentiful provision for him. April 12. To the bailiffs of Gloucester. Contrabreve to furnish part of Windsor. the king's tower in his castle of Gloucester with flooring and joists, to whiten it inside, and to repair it where necessary, the cost to be credited by view. April 13. Liberate to the hermit of Brehulle 50s. for Easter term in the Windsor. 39th year, which sum he receives yearly for serving the chapel of Brehull. April 15. To James Fresel, constable of the castle of St. Briavels. Contra[Windsor.] breve to rebuild the part of the castle wall which has fallen down, and to repair the king's rooms (domos), the palisades (palacia), and [certain] buildings where necessary, the cost to be credited by view. April 15. Allocate to John de Curtennay, in his debts to the king, 25 marks [Windsor.] which he should have received at the [Easter] Exchequer in the 39th year of his yearly fee of 50 marks. Liberate to Humphrey de Bohun the younger 40 marks for Michaelmas term in the 38th year and 40 marks for Easter term in the 39th year, of the yearly fee of 80 marks granted to him yearly till the king shall make provision for him in lands of that value out of wards or escheats; and to Henry de Bohun 50 marks for the same terms of the yearly fee of 50 marks granted to him in like manner. Liberate without delay to Artald de Sancto Romano, king's clerk, keeper of the wardrobe, 600 marks to pay the expenses of the household. April 17. To the sheriff of Wilts. Contrabreve to make a fireplace and a Chertsey. suitable (decentem) privy chamber for the new chamber made above the new rock at Clarendon, the cost to be credited by view. To Godfrey de Lyston, keeper of the king's manor of Kenyton. Contrabreve to pay 25s. to the king's chaplain of Kenyton for his wages from Michaelmas in the 38th year till Easter following. April 17. To the same. Contrabreve to pay 20d. yearly so long as he has Chertsey. the keeping of the said manor to William, vicar of Sunnygbir', in recompense of his losses sustained by the enclosure of the king's park of Kenyton, and also the arrears thereof, being 10s. for 6 years.
