( 182 39 HENRY III. No. 31.* Liberate de anno regis Henrici tercii tricesimo nono facte coram consilio suo in Anglia dum fuit in partibus Wasconie. 1254. MEMBRANE 14. Oct. 29. Allocate to Gilbert de Preston, in his debts to the king, 201. Windsor. remaining due to him for Michaelmas term in the [38th] year of the yearly fee of 401. which he receives to maintain himself in the king's service. To Godfrey de Lyston. Contrabreve to pay weekly to Henry, fitter of the king's crossbows, his wages of 5d. daily from Michaelmas in the 38th year to Easter following. To the same. Contrabreve to pay to four of the king's serjeants dwelling in garrison in the castle of Windesores their wages of 9d. each daily for the same period. To the sheriff of Salop and Stafford. Contrabreve to pay to Meredith son of Richard, who has lost his lands in Wales through his service to the king, 101. for Michaelmas term in the 38th year of the yearly fee of 201. granted to him during pleasure to maintain himself in the king's service. Nov. 1. Liberate to Bernard de Bailloll 10 marks arrears for Easter Westminster. term in the 38th year of his yearly fee of 20 marks. Allocate to Stephen de Feuger', for the whole time during which he had the keeping of the lands late of the countess of Eu (Augy) and William de Keu, in the issues thereof, 9d. daily for the livery of the king's constable of Tykehill and 20s. yearly for his robe; 4d. daily for the livery of the porter (janitoris) and watchman there, and 20s. yearly for their robes; 7d. daily for the livery of a serjeant keeping the manor of Burghes and the rape of Hastinges, and 208. yearly for his robes; 2d. daily for the livery of a serjeant keeping the manor and hundred of Wylitton, and 1 mark yearly for his robes; and ld. daily for the livery of a serjeant keeping the manor of Elham. Nolv. 4. Liberate to Henry de Hastinges 10 marks and to Geoffrey de Westminster. Luscy 5 marks as imprest on their wages. * The writs on this roll are tested by Richard earl of Cornwall down to December 26, and afterwards by the king.
