Allocate to William de Wylton, in the issues of the bishopric of Lincoln while in the king's hand, 50 marks for his expenses while keeper thereof. Liberate to the cloth-merchants of Beverl' 521. 10s. 11d. for 18 cloths bought of them in the fair of St. Ives in the 38th year by the hands of John de Sumercote and Richard de Ewell. Liberate to Simon de Monte Forti, earl of Leicester, 2001. for Easter term in the 38th year of the 4001. which he receives yearly at the Exchequer as dower of Eleanor his wife, the king's sister, in Ireland, for which the king is surety. By the queen. Liberate to the same earl 1069 marks balance of the fine of 7,000 marks made with him in the name of Edward the king's son for the surrender to the king of his castles and land of Gascony. By the queen. The king's letters obligatory for the said 7,000 marks are to be first received at the Exchequer. Note that the earl is satisfied of the whole sum by writs of liberate enrolled in this year and the last. Allocate to the same earl, in his net debts to the king, 1031. 6s. 8d. in lieu of a like sum, being arrears of the above 7,000 marks. Cancelled quia aliter in rotulo finium.* * In the Fine Roll of this year, m. 5, 63rd entry, debts of the earl amounting to 1051. 138. 4d., together with others unspecified, are respited by a writ of 16 May till the king's return from Gascony.
