Contrabreve to let John le Poe, detained in the king's tower of Gloucester, have a robe worth 20s. of the king's gift against Christmas. By K. To Waleram the German. Contrabreve to Clarendon. pay 5 marks out of the issues of the pannage of the forest to Ernald Fedin, king's yeoman, for a rouncey of the king's gift. By K. To the sheriff of Devon. Contrabreve to pay 40s. of the king's gift to Reynold de Drumare. To the sheriff of Wilts. Contrabreve to make a building at Clarendon to contain the bailiff's stock, another for making the king's own bread and wafers and keeping the lord's flour, a penthouse underAlexander's chamber for delivery of the food of Edward the king's son, a small pantry for the queen, and a window for the king's wardrobe to be glazed with white glass, with a column and seat and a bench to put the king's clothes on when he takes them off (ad reliquias nostras desuper ponendas); the garden to be enclosed with a fence, and the queen's fireplace to be painted, and the painting in her chapel amended; a chamber to be made by the cellar towards the park; the fireplace of the chamber over (ultra) the rock to be remade; and the rock itself to be doubled in length, and the step down from it to be remade; the cost to be credited by view. By K. Dec. 2. To the same. Contrabreve to carry to Merleberge with speed Breamore. and without fail 4 tuns of wine which the keeper of the king's wines at Clarendon will deliver for the use of the queen.
