Basic Description and Interpretation
- ID
- 2370
- Definition
- The SU is a large accumulation layer between walls SU 2278 and SU 2264.
- Interpretations
- 2011-07-30 - Jamie Sewell: This seems to be a layer of colluvial deposit, but the area seems to have been heavily disturbed. The level is physically below the SU 2264 wall but stratigraphically the wall doesn't correlate with the layer. The red layer to the north of the SU does not seem to continue under the SU. Originally we thought we would find the red in SU 2370 but it stops. There was some rubble in the southwest corner consisting of small rocks and tiles that has been removed.

- Date of Layer Observations
- The layer contained three micro-sherds of probable Terra Sigillata (although each has a surface area of around 2 cm square). This alone makes this layer Imperial (post -50 BCE). The presence of Terra Sigillata might be due to an intrusion into the layer that was not detected during excavation.
