Basidia tetraspora. Cheilocystidia 36-50 x 5-8 Jm, filamentosa vel ad basin + ventricosa. Specimen typicum in Herb. Univ. Mich. conservatum est, Smith 17169; legit prope Olympic Hot Springs, Olympic National Park, Washington, 22 Sep 1941. Pileus (1.5) 2-4 (6) cm broad, obtusely conic with an inrolled margin, broadly convex to expanded umbonate at maturity, surface viscid and glabrous except for scattered fibrillose patches from the remains of the thin pallid buff cortina along the margin, on the disc "Cinnamon-Buff" or browner, the marginal area paler and grayer. Context thick in the disc (3-4 mm), tapered evenly to the margin,
