The veiled species of Hebeloma in the western United States / Alexander H. Smith, Vera Stucky Evenson, and Duane H. Mitchel.

Introduction 13 mm high-dry objective and a 12-x eyepiece. With this optical system those species with very slightly ornamented spores appear smooth or practically so. To describe this degree of ornamentation we have often used the term apparently smooth. In the final publication on the North American species of Hebeloma it is planned to treat spore ornamentation in greater detail. There are species, however, in which spore ornamentation is obvious under the 3 mm objective, and this degree of ornamentation is 13 14 5 2 16 17 l 18\ 19 1 20 H 27 15 Figs. A1l-27.
