Reported from Ohio by Hard. We have examined his collection and
it is unsuitable for critical study.
Pholiota hormorpha (Mont.) Saccardo, Syll. Fung. 5: 754. 1887.
It is said to resemble P. tuberculosa. We have seen no autlentic
material.

In the type material examined, the spores were found to be 13-18
x 7-12 / ellipsoid, smooth, pale, germ pore not evident. Pleurocystidia and cheilocystidia were not found. Probably not a Pholiota.
