Abstract

This article presents a narrative history of the influenza pandemic at Harvard. Notes that "all lectures or classes of over fifty men were stopped between September 30 and October 21." Also notes that 13 fourth-year Harvard Medical School students assisted in supervising medical operations. An isolation ward was established and quarantine enacted. "We thus feel that rigid quarantine with adequate medical supervision is a most desirable method to at least attempt when trying to prevent influenza," states the author.
