Description

General Description: Small mouth; small teeth on maxillae, premaxillae, dentaries; blunt snout.
Specific Description: Large dorsal fin.

Distribution

Distribution: From the Arctic and Bering Sea drainages, northwest Siberia through North America to Hudson Bay; south to Stikine and Columbia drainage; upper Missouri, Montana; Michigan population formerly in Otter and Little Carp River of Lake Superior drainage, Jordan River to Muskegon River in Lake Michigan basin, and Cheboygan to Rifle River in Lake Huron drainage.

Ecology

Ecology: Usually in streams. Feed on aquatic insects. Length to 35-40 cm.
