The First 100: Chicanas Changing History archival project seeks to document how, over the last 50 years, Chicana have transformed the way we analyze and write history as well as who is included in U.S. history. Through oral histories, data collection, and public programs, this project honors these women’s contributions in creating a fuller depiction of U.S. history. The project also interrogates the academy’s organizational culture that systematically disregards the contributions of Chicana academic research and work. The First 100 Archive consists of recorded audio and video oral histories, images, and data visualizations, with video oral histories available through this digital collection. Physical materials related to this project are housed at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History. For more information please visit the Smithsonian's project site and The First 100: Chicanas Changing History which contain additional resources.
