The names of some, who haue vndertaken to helpe and aduance his Maiesties Plantation in the New-found-land. viz.

THe right Honorable, Henry Lord Cary, Viscount of Faulke-land, Lord Deputy Generall of the Kingdome of Ireland, hath vnder∣taken to plant a Colony of his Maiesties subiects in the New-found-land, and his Lordship is well pleased to entertaine such as are willing to be Aduenturers with him therein, vpon such Conditions as may appeare in the latter part of this Booke: And in his Lordships ab∣sence, he hath authorized his Agent, Master Leonard Wellsted, Gentleman, by warrant vnder his hand and Seale, to ratifie whatsoeuer shall be by him concluded therein. The said Master Wellsteds Chamber is neere to one Master Garlands house, at the lower end of Saint Martins lane in the field.

The Right Honourable Sir George Caluert Knight, principall Secre∣tarie vnto the Kings most excellent Maiesty, hath also vndertaken to plant a large Circuit of that Country: who hath already sent thither this yeare and the former yeare, a great number of men and women, with all necessarie prouisions fit for them; where they liue pleasantly, building of houses, clean∣sing of land for Corne, and meddowes, Cabage, Carrets, Turneps, and such like; as also for Woad and Tobacco. Likewise they are there preparing to make Salt, for the preseruing of fish another yeare, and for diuers other seruices. And his Honour is likewise well pleased to entertaine such as will aduenture with him therein, vpon very fit conditions.

The Worshipfull Iohn Slany of London Merchant, who is one of the vndertakers of the New-found-land Plantation, & is Treasurer vnto the Patentees of that Society, who haue maintained a Colony of his Maie∣sties subiects there aboue twelue yeares, and they are willing to entertaine such as will further his Maiesties said Plantation, vpon fit conditions.

Diuers Worshipfull Citizens of the City of Bristoll, haue vndertaken to plant a large Circuit of that Countrey, and they haue maintained a Colony of his Maiesties subiects there any time these fiue yeares, who haue builded there faire houses, and done many other good seruices, who liue there very pleasantly, and they are well pleased to entertaine vpon fit conditions, such as wilbe Aduenturers with them.

The Worshipfull William Vaughan of Tarracod, in the County of Car∣marthen, Doctor of the Ciuill law, hath also vndertaken to plant a Circuit

in the New-found-land; and hath in two seuerall yeares sent thither di∣uers men and women, and he is willing to entertaine such as will be Aduen∣turers with with him vpon fit conditions.

And there are many other worthy persons Aduenturers in the said Plantation, whose names are not herein mentioned. And it is well hoped, that diuers others wil also put their helping hand to aduance the same, when they are giuen to vnderstand what honour and benefit may accrue thereby. And if his Maiesties subiects of this Kingdome may be willing to set foorth from euery seuerall County, but one good ship yearely thither, with people and prouisions fit for them, it will be then not onely a great honour and benefit vnto his Maiesty, but also a great increase of shipping and Mariners, and the imploying and inriching of many thousands of poore people which now liue chargeable to the Parishioners. The which may be easily performed by the able subiects, to set forth the charge at first, and so euery Parish to receiue yearely their equall parts of the benefit which may accrue by the said stocke; and thereby not onely disburden yearely themselues of some of those which lie chargeable vnto them within their seuerall Parishes: but also yearely yeeld a great benefit to euery seuerall County, though it lie something remote from the Sea-coast, if they imploy a discreet honest man therein, who may yearely be accomptable to euery Parish of the charge, and likewise the benefit. The which will not be any way burdensome or hurtfull vnto any; as the following discourse which I haue written, will plainly informe them.

From my Chamber at the signe of the gilded Cocke in Pater-noster-Row in London.
