Take a Gallon of white Anniseed∣water, a peck of Red Field Poppies,

steep them three days & three nights, then strain them out and put in half a pound of Raisons of the Sun Stoned, half a pound of Figgs sliced, half an ounce of Mace, half an ounce of Cinnamon, one ounce of Nutmegs cut in peices, one ounce of Liquorish, a quarter of an ounce of Cloves, half an ounce of Grains, let these stand together three days and three nights, then strain it, and put to it as much Sugar to sweeten it as you think fit. The Poppies and Spice you Strained out Still them, and they will make an excellent Water.
