ALthough God,* 1.1 By the things which are made, hath so made known unto all men in the world his eternall
power and Godhead, that as many as have known him, and yet not glorified him as God, are without excuse: Yet we know, that he hath in a more peculiar manner,* 1.2 that is by his Pro∣phets and Apostles, who spake and wrote as they were moved by the holy Ghost, revealed himself and his will more clearly and fully unto his Church, and therefore, that the writ∣ings of the Prophets and Apostles are the very word of God.
