Tractatus de simplicium medicamentorum facultatibus. = A treatise of the nature and qualities of such simples as are most frequently used in medicines,: both purging, and others. Methodically handled, for the benefit of those that understand not the Latine tongue. To which is added: many compound medicines for most diseases incident to mankinde: as also two alphabeticall tables, very necessary for the reader. Licoris is good against the roughnesse and hoarsnesse of the throat, and is helpefull for Ulcers in the bladder, and by its moisture it quencheth thirst, and is excellent for any dry cough to digest fl•gme and to cause it to be easily spit up, to helpe shortnesse of breath, and all other griefes of the Breast and Lungs, the Tiffick, or Consumpti∣ons Page [unnumbered] caused by the distillations of Salt humours on them: it is good also in paines of the Raines, Strangury & heat of the Urine, especially boyled with Maidenhaire and Figs. The juyce of Licoris is as effectuall in all the Diseases of the Breast and Lungs, the Reines and bladder, as the decoction.
