God accepts the intent be∣fore the deed; for if a man do justice because he would be
counted just, and not for Gods glory, but because he stands answerable to God, if he do otherwise; or if he punish a man rightly, but withall satis∣fie his own malice; both these are abominable: if he give Alms onely for his reputation sake, this is a wicked deed; be∣cause there is Nullum medium, whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
