¶ Against the sharpnes and drynesse of the tongue, put this gum in water which is called gum Arabike, till the water be slymie, and with that slyme moist the tongue, or bind the gum in a thin cloth, and put it in water till it begin to melt, and with
she same cloth rub thy tongue, and it will take away the paine thereof. Also for the roughnesse of the tongue, put the séedes of Quinces, or the curnells in a fine cloth, and wash thy tongue therwith: also Psillium or the séede thereof.
