CHAP. III.
THe Welshmen embraced the Reformation of Religion according to the Church of England, in Doctrine, Discipline, and Worship; the Liturgy whereof was by Queen Elizabeth's Command translated into the Welsh or British Tongue, as the BIBLE also by an Act of Parliament, 5 Eliz. 1563. But because that Church-Bible then set forth (the Care whereof was committed to the Bishop of Here∣ford, and the four Bishops of Wales) was of a large Bulk, it was reduced into a more portable Volume in the beginning of the Reign of King Charles the First, at the Charge of Rowland Heylyn Alderman of London, who caused also a Welsh Dictionary to be Printed.
