The Apostle cannot make Faith and Works concomitant in Procurement of Justification, seeing that Abraham was justi∣fied by Faith, as the Scripture cited by the Apostle doth shew long before, that his Faith did operate and shew forth it self by that Work which the Apostle mentioneth: Therefore by Works, and not by Faith only, must needs be as much, as [not by Faith which is alone without Works:] Which is also clear enough by the whole Series of the latter part of the Chapter, and namely by that, Vers. 17. Even so Faith, if it hath not Works is dead, being alone.
