A Clear APOLOGY AND Just Defence OF Richard Stafford For Himself;
With a Rehearsal, and further Explanation of what he hath done concerning National Affairs.
But truly, I am full of Power by the Spirit of the Lord, and of Judg∣ment, and of Might, to declare unto Jacob his Transgression, and to Israel his Sin. Hear this, I pray you, ye Heads of the House of Ja∣cob, and Princes of the House of Israel, that abhor Judgment, and pervert all Equity: They build up Zion with Blood, and Jerusalem with Iniquity: The Heads thereof judge for Reward, and the Priests there∣of teach for Hire, and the Prophets thereof divine for Money; yet will they lean upon the Lord, and say, Is not the Lord among us? none evil can come upon us, Micah 3. 8, 9, 10, 11.
But Judgment shall return unto Righteousness, and all the Ʋpright in heart shall follow it, Psal. 94. 15.
All the Words of my Mouth are in Righteousness, there is nothing fro∣ward or perverse in them: They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find Knowledge, Prov. 8. 8, 9.
