SIR,

MY Business is not to answer the Commendations you load me with on account of the taking Arras, because it is to be ascribed only to the Blessing of God on our Arms,

the Justice of our Cause, and the Prudence and Courage of his Majesty. But I will content myself to tell you, that I do not doubt but you are sincere in your Joy upon this Ac∣count, being always assur'd of your Steadfastness and Loy∣alty for the King's Service. To recompence which to my Power, will always be the Endeavours of, &c.
