LXXV. INFIDELITIE.

Generals.

IN the Saints it sel∣dome scapes unpu∣nished, Luk. 1.20.

It was an ancient sin; Christs brethren belie∣ved not in him, Ioh. 7.5

Great works done should banish the same Iohn. 10.38.

The unbelief of some makes not the faith of God of none effect, Rom. 3 3.

God hath shut up all in unbeliefe, that hee might have mercy up∣on all, Rom. 11.32,

The company of such should bee shunned, Rom. 13.31.

We must not be un∣equally yoked with such 2 Cor. 6.14.

Ignorant walking in unbelief, may find mer∣cie, 1 Tim. 1.13.

The fearful, unbelieving abominable, are coup∣led together, Rev. 21.8.

It is a sin worthy of severe chiding, Mar. 16.14

Cause.

Not trusting in Gods salvation, Ps, 78.22.

Not believing of his wondrous works, Ps. 78.22.

By our pride, depend∣ing more upon man then God, John 5.44.

By blinding of our eyes, and hardening of our hearts, Joh. 12.38.

Sharp and great af∣flictions nurse the same Exod. 4.31.

Nature.

It believeth not Gods words, Joh 5.38.

It is tyed up to, and confines it self to sight, John 20.27.

Danger.

It makes men back∣sliding and unfaithfull revolters, Ps. 78 57.

It brings us to de∣strust Gods word, Ps. 109.24,

It lets us from seeing the glory of God, Ioh. 11, 44.

It keeps men off from being engrafted into the Covenant of grace, Rom. 11.23.

An unbelieving heart makes us to depart from the living God, Heb. 3.12

It hinders men from entring into Gods rest, Heb. 3.19.

It makes the hearing of the word unprofitable unto us, Heb. 4.2.

Such are for destru∣ction, Iude 5.

They shal be damned Mar. 16.16.

It causeth great cros∣ses to overtake us, Luke 1.20.

Such are condemned already, Ioh. 3.18.

Such shall never see life, but have the wrath of GOD abiding on them, Iohn 3.36.

Tryals.

One chain thereof drawes on another, Ioh. 5.46.

It' is a shrewd signe of reprobation, Iohn 10.36.

It is apt to stirre up strife, and make us con∣tentious, Act. 14.2.

It makes us to stag∣ger at the promises, Rom. 4.20.

It cuts off the Jews for the time, Rom. 11.20

The unbelieving hus∣band is sanctified by the beleeving wife, &c. 1 Cor. 7.14.

The mindes of such are blinded, least the Gospel should shine up∣on them,

One who beleeveth, hath no part with an infidel, 2 Cor. 6.13.

To the defiled and unbeleeving nothing is pure, Tit. 1.13.

Even miracles pre∣vaile not with it, Iohn 12.37.
