LXV. Praise of GOD.

Generals.

HE is greatly to be praised in his ho∣ly

city, in the mountain of his holines, Ps. 48.1.

According to his name, so is his praise unto the ends of the earth, Ps. 48.10.

Praise should waite for God in his Church Ps. 65.1.

All people should be stirred up to praise the Lord, Ps. 76.3.

The dead can shew forth no praises, Psal. 88.10.

None can shew forth all his praise, Psalm. 106.2.

His name is to bee praised from the rising unto the going down of the Sunne, Psalm 113.3.

The Lords name is to be praised, because it is excellent and good Ps. 135.1.

We must praise his name, because of his loving kindnesse, and because of his truth, Ps. 138.1.

All manner of wayes we are exhorted to praise the Lord, Psal 148. Psal. 149.

Manner.

Our hearts must be fixed and stand up early to give praise, Psalm. 57.7, 8.

It should be done with joyfull lips, Psal. 63.5.

It must be done with our whole heart, Psal. 86.12.

Matter.

Our gathering from among the wicked is matter of triumphing therein, Ps. 106.47.

Expression of his mercy and truth caus∣eth us to sing and give praise, Pf. 71.7.

Because his loving kindnesse is better then life, Ps. 73.4.

For hearing, and be∣coming our salvation, Ps. 118.21.

For hearing of the words of his mouth, Ps. 138.4.

Trials.

He must be blessed and praised at all times it must be continually in our mouth, Ps. 34.1.

Such must call upon his name make known his deeds among the people,

Sing praises unto him talk of all his wondrous workes,

Glory in his holy name, 1 Chron 16.8.

He should be praised in the great congrega∣tion, and among much people, Ps. 35.18.

Our mouth should speak of his praise all the day long, Ps. 35.28.

It is matter of com∣fort to have a song of praise put into our mouth, Ps. 40.3.

Such as love his sal∣vation, must needs be much is magnifying of him, Ps. 40.16.

It comforts the Saints in their greatest di∣stresses that they shall yet live to praise him, Ps. 40.11. & 43.5.

They must be sung with understanding Ps. 47.6.

Those who offer praise, glorifie God Psal. 50.23.

He ought to be prai∣sed for his truth and holinesse, Psal. 71.22. Those most conversant with God, are most in praises of him, Ps. 84.4.
