LV. Waiting on GOD.

Generals.

NOne that waiteth for him can be ashamed, Psal. 25.3.

Praise waiteth for him in his sanctuary, Ps. 65.1.

The strength of our opposites should make us to trust in God, Ps. 59.9.

Waiters must waite for the coming of Jesus Christ, 1 Cor. 1.7.

We must wait upon God, even when he hides his face from his people, and look for him, Isa. 8.17.

We must wait upon God, in the way of his mercies, Isa. 26.8.

Such are saved in re∣turning and rest,

In quietnesse and con∣fidence is their rest, Isa. 30.15.

The Lord waites that he may be gracious to his people, and to be exalted, that he may have mercy upon them, Isa. 30.18.

It is good that a man should both wait and hope patiently for the salvation of the Lord, Lam. 3.26.

All the creatures do waite on God to give them their meat in due season, Ps. 104.2.

The Isles it is said should wait for God

The visions of Gods help are for an appoin∣ted time,

Though they tarry, yet wee must wait, for, they will come, Habbak. 2.3.

The earnest expecta∣tion of the creature, waiteth for the ma∣nifestation of the sons of God, Rom. 8.19.

The Saints groan in themselves waitinig for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of their bodies, Ro. 8.23.

The long suffering of God waiting long for the old world in the dayes of Noah, 1 Pet. 3.20.

Trials.

Our soul should wait for God, Psal. 33.20.

Such rest upon God not fretting at the pros∣perity of others, ps. 37.7

Such keep his wayes Psal. 37.34,

It should be a watch∣full waiting, as ser∣vants watch their mis∣tresses eye, Ps. 123.2.

Such wait earnest∣ly, hopefully and trust in his word, Ps. 130.6.

Waiting on God in the way of his judg∣ments teacheth the in∣habitants of the earth righteousnes, Isa. 26.6. The Sainis best strength is to sit still and wait upon God. Isa 30.7.

Wee should wait upon God as when he knocks we may be ready to open unto him, Luk. 12.36.

Those who wait for God, hope in him, Psal. 39.7.

In strength of ene∣mies, the Saints flee to God, because he is stronger, Psal. 59.6 9.

The Saints in waiting for God, their eyes may fail, throat bee dried, and be weary of crying, Ps. 6.6.

The Saints do all their appointed times waite for their change, Job 14.14.

It is a great sin com∣plained of, not to wait for Gods counsel, Psa. 106.13.

Such are early wait∣ers more then for the morning watch, Psal. 130.6.

Because he is our help and our shield, Ps. 33.20.

Because patient wait∣ing brings deliverance, Ps. 401 1.

Because their salva∣tion comes from him, Ps. 26.1.

Because all the crea∣tures depending, are furnished in due season Ps. 145.15.

Manner.

We must wait patiently with cut fretting, Psal. 37.7.

It must be quiet wai∣ting, Lam. 3.26.

It must be a waiting until God come, Hab. 2.3.

Helps.

Our uprightnesse and integritie preserves us therein, Psal. 25.21.

To be chearful and of good comfott, Psal. 27.14.

A sight of Gods goodnesse, Ps. 52.9.

Encouragements.

Such shall inherite the earth, Ps. 37.9.34.

Thereupon God en∣clines to hear the cry of such, Ps. 40.1.

He will save such, make them glad and to rejoice in his salvation Isa. 25.9.

Such are blessed, Isa. 30.13.

That they shall re∣new their strength,

Mount up with wings as eagles,

Runne and not be weary,
