JOHN 14. 6.I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
THese words are an answer to the precedent verse, and they are Allegoricall, rate∣ly adorn'd, partly metapho∣rically, and partly Mero∣nymically, and they are brought in, to inform Thomas, and the rest of the Disci∣ples more fully in the way of Salvation. We know not (saith Thomas) whither thou goest, and how can we know the way? Our Saviour presently resolv's him in the words of my Text. I am the way, the truth and the Life.
