The Decree at the Opening the Council.

DOes it Please You, that for the Praise and Glory of the Holy and Undivided Trinity, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; for the Increase and Propa∣gation of the Christian Faith and Religion; for the Extirpation of Heresie; for the Peace and Union of the Church; for the Reformation of the Clergy and Christian People; for the Depression and Destruction of the Enemies of the Christian Name; that we appoint and declare this Holy and General Council of Trent to begin and be begun? They Answer, It pleaseth us.

The Order for the Second Session.

Seeing the Feast of the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ is now drawing near, and that there are other Feasts at the end of the Old, and beginning of the New Year, Does it like you to hold your next Session on Thursday after Twelfth-day, which will be the seventh of January, in the year of our Lord M.D.XLVI? They Answer'd, It liketh us.
