CHAP. II.

AND although the Church has been accustom'd now and then to Celebrate some Masses to the Honour and Memory of Saints; yet it does not teach that Sacrifice ought to be offer'd to them, but to God only, who Crown'd them: Whence it is, that the Priest does not say, I offer Sacrifice unto thee Peter, or, thee Paul; but giving thanks to God for their Victories, implores their Pa∣tronage, that they would vouchsafe to intercede for us in Heaven, whom we do commemorate here on Earth.
