An impotent Gentleman having marri∣ed a rich young Gentlewoman, whom he could not satisfie, gave a young lusty Gal∣lant Fifty pounds a year to do the work: But his Waiting-man seeing this Gallant one day with his Mistriss, ran to ac∣quaint his Master; but he, fained as if he were in a sleep, and gave no answer: which made him cry the more urgently, That his Marriage-Bed was defiled. When his Master saw he would not be quiet, Peace, peace, says he, I give him Fifty pound a year for doing it▪ Ah, Sir, repli∣ed the man, had I known that, I would have done it for half the money.
