EXPERIMENT II.

Refined Silver being placed over the Flame of Sulphur after the same manner as the Cop∣per was, in an Hour and a half weighed one Dram five Grains and three quarters; its weight before being a Dram wanting two Grains. Whether it depends on the closeness of the Metal, and incongruity of the Pores, that Silver acquires not proportionably so great a weight as Copper, I shall leave to the Rea∣der to consider: But from these Experiments it appears, that the Corpuscles of Fire, like other Menstruums, may be united with the Bo∣dies it works upon.
