VI. * Dentifricium Domi∣narum, A Dentrifice for Ladies.

Bate.] ℞ Crystal prepared ʒjss. Pouder of Bricks of Pu∣mice-stone, A. ℥ss. Os Sepiae, Coral red and white, A. ʒij. Pearl, Cloves, A. ʒj. Musk, gr. iv. mix and make a fine Pouder: To which add Honey of Roses, q. s. so as to make a soft Paste. Otherwise thus. ℞ Pouder of Brick ℥j. Spirit of Sulphur, q. s. so as to make a Paste; to which being dry∣ed add, Pouder of Tartar ʒvj. burnt or toasted Bread ℥ss. mix them. Rub the Teeth therewith, and after wash the Mouth with Wine.

Salmon.] § 1. In the latter Composition, Pouder of Cre∣mor Tartari, will be best to be chosen, because it is finer, cleaner and more pure than Argol, or unrefined Tar∣tar.

§ 2. If the Teeth be very foul, the Medicament must be used often in a day, at least five or six times; and afterwards, every time after eating.
