III. * Oleum Bufonum, Oil of Toads.

Bate.] ℞ Live Toads, N^o iv. boil them in Oil-Olive lbij. for one hour, or till they break; then strain and keep it for use. It is good against Pustles of the Lips, and Can∣cers of the Breasts; it is al∣so prevalent against the Dropsie, and provokes U∣rine, being anointed on the Reins.

Salmon.] § 1. It is said to be an excellent thing a∣gainst all manner of Break∣ings out of the Skin, of what kind soever; and cures a red Face, more especially if mixt with a small quan∣tity of Flowers of Sulphur.

§ 2. I am informed that an old Man who had been troubled with the Gout for forty Years, by anointing the places affected with this Oil for some time, was perfectly cured thereof, so as he never had any more Fits of it.
