But then there is another Objection for the clearing of this. You will say if so be that a belie∣ver be made righteous with the perfect righteous∣ness of Jesus C••••ist, then I pray, why should a believer be called upon to seek and follow after righteousness? is not the righteousness of Christ enough? is not that perfect enough? shall we add any thing to the righteousness of Christ? that will make the righteousness of Christ to be imper∣fect. Now if so be that you or I or any believer be made righteous with the very righteousness of Christ, which is a most perfect and compleat righ∣teousness, then why should we need to seek after any further righteousness? You know the Holy Ghost in Scripture calls upon Believers to follow after righteousness, as the Apostle calleth up••n

Timothy, 1 Tim. 6.11. Follow after Righteousness. What? had not he righteousness enough, if he had the righteousness of Christ on him? what, shall a man or woman need any further righteous∣ness than the Righteousness of Christ.
