❧ HERE BEGYNNETH the thyrde parte the which declareth by example howe ye shal brynge the vertue and nature of the heauens, and sterres to what parte of the body that ye wyl, and first for the sickenesse of the heade as sayth Messahala. (Book 3)

WHen ye shall minister to any syckenes of the hed any kynd of medecines what so euer it be, fyrst marke whē the Moone is in Aries, and then myxe your me∣decynes with some of these herbes, Stones, Gummes, or Mettalles, accordynge to the purpose of youre medecines, as are vnder the Sonne Mars or the sygne of Aries, and yf it be aboute the .xxi. degre of Aries, ye shall myxe your medecynes with parte of these that are vnder Venus

and Mercurye, and so the Moone shall mynister vnto the syckenes of the heade the influence and vertues of the Heauens and Sterres, the whiche hath domynation and influ∣ence in these herbes and thynges so ministred vnto the health and amen¦dynge of all deseases in the heade, and thus ye shall vnderstande of al other partes of the bodye. Further∣more ye shall vnderstande for a ge∣nerall rule, that ye shall not touche any member with fyre or Iron, the Moone beynge in the sygne thereof at any tyme. Also notwithstandinge it is good to gyue any other kynde of medecynes as Digestyues, Mi∣tigatyffes, Comfortatyffes, Expul∣syffes, Maturatyffes, Mundyfyca∣tiffes, Restrictiffes, Aperityffes, Al∣teratyffes, and Dyuertyffes, eyther by Fomētacyon, Epithimaes, Sac∣cellacions, Odoraciōs, Fumigatiōs Iuleppes, Siroppes, Infusions,

Liniamentes, Oyntmentes, Cerotes Plaisters, Electuaries, Confectiōs or any kynde of mynistracion what so euer it be, and for the more readye knowledge hereof, I haue set a brife table to knowe what planette, hath most dominaciō in euery sygne, that the thinges vnder them may be my∣nistred vnder theyr proper sygne for euery pertyculer parte of the bodye as hereafter foloweth.
