As he spake by the mouth of hys holye Prophetes whyche hath bene since the world began. That we should be saued from our enne∣mies, and from the handes of al that hate vs. To performe the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy couenaunt. To per∣forme the othe which he sware to our father Abraham, that he would geue vs. That we being deliuered out of the handes of our enemies

And thou childe shalt be called the Pro∣phet of the highest, for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to pre∣pare his wayes. To geue knowledge of saluation vnto his people, for the remission of theyr sinnes, through the tender mercy of our God whereby the day spring from an hye hath visited vs. To geue light to them that sit in darknes, and in the shadow of death, and to guide our feete into the way of peace. Glory be to the father, and to the sonne, and to the holy ghost. As it was in the beginning is now, and euer.
