There are two opiniōs of Popery which are most opposite to that great ground of Christiā veritie. The first is, that there are some moral vertues or works which make men acceptable before God, before they be grafted into Christ: the second that Christ hath merited for vs, the first grace: that is, an occasiō of meriting with God: & that then it is our parts, to take the oc∣casion when it is offered.
