THis Citie stood in mount Ephraim not far from Lidda and Ioppa, some 16 miles distant from Ierusalem Northeastward; and was sometimes called Ramah. Here Ioseph (whose additi∣on was Arimathia) dwelt, that demanded the body of our Sa∣uiour
to bury in his own sepulchre. It seemeth to be called Rama∣thaim Sophim (which signifies, the high places of the prophets) because there was an Academy or publique schoole of Prophets which serued for the whole land, in this city. At this day it is cal∣led by the name of Ramath, hauing some affinitie to the antient name Ramah.
