Section 1. Concerning the notion and generall descripti∣on of the notes of the Church.

By notes our Aduersaries vnderstand, Certaine outward signes and properties, diuers from the essence, whereby the true Church is known and differenced from all other societies, humane or religiousa.

In the markes of the Church they require these con∣ditions: 1. That they be proper and not common, or such as false Churches may easily pretend to challengeb. Se∣condly, Euident and better knowne then the Church it selfe. And by euident they vnderstand that which is ma∣nifest
