VERS. 14. And they said, [Verse 14] some say that thou art Iohn the Baptist, some Elias, and others Ieremias, or one of the Prophets.
The Pharisees held divers, and sundry errone∣ous opinions; amongst which some errours they had concerning the resurrection of the dead; which although they acknowledged, and main∣tained against the Sadduces; yet concerning it they thus taught,r 1.1: That the soules of evill men deceased, presently departed into everlast∣ing punishment; but the soules of good men,
