Alopecurus.

ALopecurus groweth not in England yt euer I haue sene / but I haue sene it growe in Germany / but ye fairest yt euer I sawe / grewe in Italy. The herbe is like vnto a short kind of corne / & hath in ye top of ye strawe a great thick & bu∣shye eare ful of longe dounes / whiche is very lyke vnto a foxe tayle / wherof it hath the name in Greke. I haue not read any thing worthy the wrytinge of this herbe / nether haue I harde of any man which had any experience in the nature of this herbe.
