[ A] THe diuision of the sonnes of Aaron: Na∣dab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.* 1.1 But Nadab & Abihu dyed before their father and had no children. And Eleazar and Ithamar were the preastes. And Dauid orde∣red them on this maner: Zadock of the son∣nes of Eleazar and Achimelek of the sonnes of Ithamar to be in office by course. And there were mo myghty heddes founde of the sonnes of Eleazar then of the sonnes of Ithamar. And he diuided them into .xvi. heddes of aun¦cient housholdes of the sonnes of Eleazar, and eight of the sonnes of Ithamar. And he put [ B] them in order by lot, one with an other to be rulers in the sanctuary & Lordes before God as well of the sonnes of Ithamar as of ye son¦nes of Eleazar. And Semeiah the son of Na∣thaneel the Scribe of the Leuites wrote thē before the kynge and the Lordes, and before Zadock the preast and Achimelek the sonne of Abiathar, and before the auncient heddes of the prestes and of the Leuites: one principal housholde for Eleazar, and one for Ithamar.

And the first lot fell to Iehotarib. The .ij. to Iedatah. The .iij. to Hatim The .iiij. to Scorim. The .v. to Melchiab. The .vj to Mi¦amin. The .vij to Hakes. The .viij. to Abiah. The .ix. to Iesua. The .x. to Secaniah. The [ C] xj. to Elisib. The .xij. to Iakim. The .xiij. to Hupha. The .xiiij. to Isbaab. The .xv. to Belgah. The .xvj. to Emer The .xvij. to He¦zir. The .xviij. to Haphzz. The .xix. to Patha¦haiah. The .xx. to Iehesekiel. The .xxi. to Ia∣cin. The .xxij. to Gamul. The .xxiij. to Dela¦iahu. The .xxiiij. to Maasiahu.

This is the order of them in their offices, to come into the house of the Lorde according to their maner vnder Aaron their father, as the Lorde God of Israel commaunded.

The rest of the sonnes of Leui: of the son∣nes of Amram, Subael. Of the sonnes of Su¦bael Iehediahu. Of the sonnes of Rohabiah [ D] the first Iesiah. Of the Izaharites, Salemoth Of the sonnes of Salemoth, Iahath. And the sonnes of Hebron were Ietiahu the first, Ama¦riah the .ij. Iahaziel the .iij. Iekameam the .iiij. Of the sonnes of Vsiel, Micah. Of ye son∣nes of Micha, Samir. The brother of Micah was Iesiah. Of the sonnes of Iesiah, Zacha¦riah. The sonnes of Merari, were Mahali, & Musi. The sonnes of Iaaziahu, Beno. The sonnes of Merari by Iahaziahu, Beno, So∣hem, Zacur and Ebri.

Maheli had Eleazar which had no sonnes. The sonnes of Kis: Ierahemel. The sonnes of Musi: Mahali, Eder and Iermoth. These are of the children of Leui, in the housholdes of their fathers. And these cast lottes next to their brethren the sonnes of Aaron, before Da¦uid the kynge and Zadoc and Achimelec and the auncient heddes and preestes of the Leui∣tes: as well the youngest brother as an aun∣cient hed.
