* 1.1There you were deceiued M. Iewel. Roboam succe∣ded Dauid. Hieroboam diuided the kingdome, and the inheritance of the Succession of Dauid. But God saith often times, that he kepte some of Dauids line in his throne,* 1.2that a candel might remaine to his seruant Dauid for euer. God surely accompted the line of Hieroboam no succession of Dauids, but rather the vndoing of it, as much as laye in Hieroboam. For Hieroboam was of an other tribe then Dauid was.
